Self-Healing in Michigan
What is Meir Schneider
Self-Healing Method?
“The philosophy of the Meir Schneider Self-Healing Method is to tailor each session to the specific needs of the client. Each client is seen as a student and is instructed in the use of therapeutic exercises specifically designed for them to continue to practice at home, beyond the limits of an individual session.
Our method includes subtle body movement and a specific massage technique developed by Meir Schneider over his 40-year career, which stimulates muscles, bones, and nerves. We use unique forms of imagery to connect between the brain and the muscles and the nerve cells. We teach about the interconnectedness within the body - including the connection between stiffness in your body and the condition of your eyes. A tense muscle in the lower back may cause problems in the hip, abdomen or in one's digestion, but at the same time that weakness may originate from a weakness in the toes that leads to stiffness in the ankles, the knees, the hips and eventually stiffness in the lower back, middle back, neck, and jaw.
Self-Healing is for motivated clients. They become excellent observers of their own bodies and active partners with their therapists. This active role leads to empowerment that strongly counteracts the depression, frustration, and fear that often accompany sickness and disability.” (Meir Schneider)
